Before June 2018: Research and pre-production on this map expansion started.After that, SCS released information about the DLC in their blog: SCS Software first hinted about the DLC in a mysterious teaser video posted on 18 March 2019. It is the second map expansion that adds 3 countries (after Scandinavia), the third that expands the map eastwards (after Going East and Beyond the Baltic Sea), the second that features "Sea" in the expansion name and the second that features a transcontinental country (in both after Beyond the Baltic Sea). It opened the eastern border of Hungary as well, further completing it. The DLC adds 3 new countries of Romania, Bulgaria, and the European part of Türkiye (East Thrace / Doğu Trakya). It is the sixth map of DLC involving map expansions.
